Automotive Systems
The Automotive Systems division has 36 factories, research centers and test tracks in 17 countries. Continental Teves develops and produces electronic and hydraulic brake, stability and chassis control systems as well as electronic air suspension systems and sensors. Continental Temic is a specialist for chassis electronics, engine management and transmission control units, as well as electric drives and body electronics.
Passenger and Light Truck Tires
The Passenger and Light Truck Tires division encompasses the Continental, Uniroyal (only Europe), Semperit, Barum, General Tire, Euzkadi, Viking, Gislaved and Mabor brands. Whereas the premium brand Continental enjoys a leading position in the original equipment and replacement business, the other brands are more prominent in the quality and budget segments of the replacement markets. The daily output from the 14 manufacturing locations we maintain worldwide totals more than 250,000 tires. The two-wheel tires business is also organizationally part of the Passenger and Light Truck Tires division.
UEFA EURO 2008™
There are many parallels between tires and football – major features of both are optimum performance, a fascinating technique and perfect teamwork. As an Official Sponsor of UEFA EURO 2008™, the Passenger and Light Truck Tires division is using football, the world’s most popular sport, as a medium to enhance the name recognition of the Continental brand worldwide.
Commercial Vehicle Tires
The Commercial Vehicle Tires division combines tires for trucks as well as industrial and OTR* vehicles. In these business segments Continental supplies a wide range of tires for many different applications. The products are successful in the original equipment and replacement business. Continental commercial vehicle tires are manufactured at seven locations in seven countries.
ContiTech
The ContiTech division is a specialist in rubber and plastics technology. With high-tech products and systems for car manufacture and other key industries, ContiTech is a successful development partner and original equipment manufacturer for companies throughout the world. And operates under the motto: Go for excellence.
