Continental’s goals “On the road to championship”
The primary objective of Continental’s initiative is to promote the increasing importance of the engineering sciences in a global economy. The industry needs highly educated engineers to ensure technology leadership and future innovation. By participating in this international study the universities will analyze engineering profiles worldwide and present the results in a global information platform in autumn 2006. Continental expects fundamental scientific research results for engineering education, careers and professional engineering profiles and will encourage a wide distribution of the research data from these results. The universities will give answers on the trends and developments of engineering education.
Our society needs engineering excellence for future economic growth on a global scale. Our industry needs engineers who strive for the best and who are acting as entrepreneurs in a high-performance culture. Continental recommends taking a focus not only on the automotive industry, but also on all engineering sciences irrespective of the branch.
