The Commercial Vehicle Tires division combines tires for trucks as well as industrial and OTR* vehicles. In these business segments Continental supplies a wide range of tires for many different applications. The products are successful in the original equipment and replacement business. Continental commercial vehicle tires are manufactured at nine locations in six countries.

Continental develops and manufactures tires for a wide range of commercial vehicles, thereby covering various market and price segments. Apart from the Continental brand, tires of the Uniroyal, Semperit, Barum and General Tire brands are marketed. In both the original equipment and replacement sectors it is our goal to meet the changing needs of consumers and vehicle manufacturers. That we achieve this goal is demonstrated by the increase in our share of the original equipment market.

Truck Tires

Continental's truck tires for medium-duty and heavy trucks and buses are characterized by the latest technologies, high mileages, reliable power transmission and low fuel consumption. They are custom-made for the intended application: for long distance haulage on good highways, for medium distances and numerous curves or for construction sites. The premium assortment from Continental guarantees economic solutions for the most varied transportation applications. High-grade products of the Uniroyal, Semperit, Barum and General Tire brands round off the program.

Economic mobility is a high priority, but is not limited to new tires. So our program includes retreaded tires under the brand names ContiTread and Contire. We also provide services such as ContiTireManagement that gives comprehensive support to key account and retail customers as well as the ContiBreakdownService to provide quick assistance in the event of a tire failure.

Industrial and OTR Tires

Vehicles such as forklifts or other industrial vehicles for a broad variety of transport tasks as well as multi-purpose vehicles used for on- or off-road service and also earthmoving machines drive on Continental products. Numerous products, developed according to user specifications, are available. Certain transportation tasks cannot be carried out by pneumatic tires. Many work machines and forklifts drive on solid-rubber tires when extreme loads would tend to force them into the ground. Products with light-colored, non-marking treads are also available for operations where cleanliness is a key factor, such as in the food or pharmaceutical industry.

Particularly in the NAFTA region, we manufacture and distribute off-the-road tires that are used as bias-ply or radial tires in the construction industry, mining and forestry.

In all sectors of Continental commercial vehicle tire production we use state-of-the-art equipment and methods to check the quality of the manufactured tires before they are shipped to customers. This is another aspect leading to high customer satisfaction.
