The Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (POLI) will be a national and international reference in teaching, research and extension. There will be a compromise with sustainable development in the social, economic and environmental spheres. Its administration will be flexible and integrated.
The POLI engineer will have a comprehensive background, both systematic and analytical, supported by a sound knowledge of the basic engineering sciences, with an ever-learning attitude. He/She will be skilful in human relations and in communication, and will posses an ethic posture, culturally and socially compromised with Brazil.
The POLI, to reach these objectives in an efficient form, through its professors, employees and students (current and former), has as an intern perspective to contribute for the valuation of engineering, of the engineer and of “making engineering”.
The Global Engineering project that is “entitled to continuously analyze engineering profiles worldwide and to present the results in a unique global information platform” is consonant with the perspectives pointed out.
