Since its foundation, TUD has been at the forefront of education and research. TUD has consistently fulfilled its mission to contribute back to society through its academic and research achievements in several fields. TUD has also made substantial contributions through creating new areas of knowledge. TUD continues to be a driving force in creating the future of Germany and the global community. The Global Engineering Study as an initiative is an opportunity to advance its fundamental mission through two main focuses: Neutrality and a firm commitment to society. The process of shifts of paradigms already started already started within TUD and the excellence initiative open up new possibilities to focus upon the creation of significant intellectual values, technical achievements and human resource development, while remaining impartial and unaffected by well-observable short-term approaches of industry and society. TUD aims to become a leader in the global society of the 21st century through its creation of dynamic development and interaction of different stakeholders, structures and institutions.
In order to enable a most successful innovation process TUD is eager to be positioned as an institution where excellent research, excellent teaching/learning and excellent service to the community are combined under the motto: Excellence and innovation.
